THIRD generation (3G) wireless technology is essentially the internet in your hand. 3G brings broadband internet to mobile phones, allowing not only voice calls, as with present GSM and CDMA "2G" services, but data. For users, this means TV on the move (already here in limited form from Hutchison's 3), streamed music, web pages, email, high-speed data transfer for businesses, video conferencing and most services now available on broadband internet connections to desktop computers.
